Electric Starter System
Starter Motor Removal
•
Remove:
Air Intake Rubber Duct [A]
•
Remove:
Joint Duct [A] and Collars
•
Remove:
Starter Motor Cable [A]
Starter Motor Mounting Bolts [B]
Clamp [C]
Starter Motor [D]
CAUTION
Do not tap the end of the starter motor shaft or the
motor may be damaged.
Starter Motor Installation
•
When installing the starter motor, clean the starter mo-
tor lugs [A] and crankcase [B] where the starter motor is
grounded.
If the O-ring [A] shows wear or damage, or if it is hard-
ened, replace it with a new one.
•
Apply a small amount of engine oil to the O-ring.
