To debug and test email settings, use the mail command.
mail [to user@host [debug]]
Usage Guidelines
Entering the mail command with no arguments will allow you to read email.
Entering the mail command with the arguments listed will allow you to send
email.
Syntax Description
to Sends email to the expressed recipient.
user@host Recipient of the email.
debug Debugs any email problems.
Example
The following command sends an email message:
mail to johndoe@example.com
mailcntrl clear
To delete the maillog, sendqueue, or userqueue, use the mailcntrl clear
command.
mailcntrl clear {log | sendqueue | userqueue}
