MAJOR ADJUSTMENT
• Lift and support the fuel tank with its prop stay.

• Loosen the lock-nuts
CD
of the throttle returning cable
CZl.
• Turn the returning cable adjuster @ to obtain proper cable
play.
• Loosen the lock-nuts
@ of the throttle pulling cable @.
• Turn the pulling cable adjuster @ in or out until the throttle
cable play
® should be 2.0 - 4.0 mm
(O.OS
- 0.16 in) at the
throttle grip.
• Tighten the lock-nuts
@ securely while holding the adjuster
@.
_ Throttle cable play ®: 2.0 - 4.0 mm (0.08 - 0.16 in)
• While holding the throttle grip at the fully closed position,
slowly turn the returning cable adjuster
@ to obtain a cable
slack
@ of 1.0 mm (0.04 in).
• Tighten the lock-nuts

securely.
A WARNING
After the adjustment is completed, check that handle-
bar movement does not raise the engine idle speed
and that the throttle grip returns smoothly and auto-
matically.
CLUTCH
Inspect every 6 000 km (4 000 miles, 6 months).
• Remove the left under cowling.

• Turn in the adjuster
CD
all the way into the clutch lever assem-
bly.
• Remove the clutch release cover.
• Loosen the lock-nut
CZl
and turn out the adjusting screw @
two or three rotations.
• From that position, slowly turn in the adjusting screw
@ until
resistance is felt.
• From this position, turn out the adjusting screw
@ 1/4 rotation,
and tighten the lock-nut
CZl.
• Loosen the lock-nut @, and turn the cable adjuster @ to
obtain 10 - 15 mm (0.4 - 0.6 in) of free play
® at the clutch
lever end.
• Tighten the lock-nuts
@.
_ Clutch lever play ®: 10 - 15 mm (0.4 - 0.6 in)
Clutch release screw: 1/4 turn out
