CHASSIS
• Remove the inner rod/damper rod (cartridge) @.

CAUTION
I
Do not disassemble the inner rod/damper rod (car-
tridge).
• Extract the outer tube from the inner tube.
NOTE:
Be careful not to damage the "ANTI-FRICTION" metals.
• Remove the following parts.

Dust seal
@ Oil seal stopper ring
® Oil seal
® Oil seal retainer

CAUTION
I
The removed oil seal must be replaced with a new one.
INSPECTION
INNER AND OUTER TUBES
• Inspect the inner tube outer surface and outer tube inner sur-
face for scratches.
• Inspect the "ANTI-FRICTION" metal surfaces for scratches.
• If any defects are found, replace them with a new one.
