DIAGNOSIS
"C12" CKP SENSOR CIRCUIT MALFUNCTION
DETECTED CONDITION
POSSIBLE CAUSE
The signal does not reach ECM for 4 sec. and more, • Metal particles or foreign materiel being attached
after receiving the starter signal. on the CKP sensor and rotor tip.
• CKP sensor circuit open or short.
• CKP sensor malfunction.
• ECM malfunction.
INSPECTION
Step1
1) Lift and support the fuel tank with its prop stay. (c::?5-5)
2) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
3) Check the CKP sensor coupler
G) for loose or poor contacts.
If OK, then measure the CKP sensor resistance.
4) Disconnect the CKP sensor coupler
G) and measure the
resistance.
_ CKP sensor resistance: 70 - 220 0
(Black - Green)
5) If OK, then check the continuity between each terminal and
ground.
_ CKP sensor continuity:
00
0 (Infinity)
(Black - Ground)
(Green - Ground)

YES Go to step 2.
NO Replace the CKP sensor with a new one.
