CALIPER REMOVAL AND DISASSEMBLY
• Remove the brake pads.
(c:::::Ta-65)
• Remove the union bolt G) and catch the brake fluid in a suit-
able receptacle.
NOTE:
Slightly loosen the caliper housing bolts
CZ)
to facilitate later dis-
assembly before removing the caliper mounting bolts.
ICAUTION I
Never reuse the brake fluid left over from previous
servicing and stored
for
long periods.
A WARNING
Brake fluid, if it leaks, will interfere with safe running
and
discolor
painted surfaces. Check the brake hose
and hose
joints
for
cracks and fluid leakage.
• Remove the brake caliper mounting bolts @.
• Remove the caliper air bleeder valve @.
• Remove the caliper housing bolts @.
• Separate the caliper halves.
• Remove the O-ring @.
ICAUTION I
I Replace the O-ring with a new one.
• Place a rag over the piston to prevent it from popping out and
then force out the pistons using compressed air.
ICAUTION I
Do not use high pressure air to prevent piston dam-
age.
• Remove the dust seals and piston seals.
ICAUTION I
Do not reuse the dust seals and piston seals to pre-
vent fluid leakage.
