REMOVAL
• Remove the lower bracket cover. (8-5)
• Remove the nut 1 by holding the nut 2.
• Remove the bolt 3 and remove the steering damper.
INSPECTION
• Inspect the steering damper body, bearing and oil seal for
damage and oil leaking.
• Move the steering damper rod by hand to inspect for a
smooth movement.
• If any defects are found, replace the steering damper with a
new one.
INSTALLATION
Install the steering damper in the reverse order of removal. Pay
attention to the following points:
• Apply SUZUKI SUPER GREASE “A” to the bearings and dust
seals.
99000-25010: SUZUKI SUPER GREASE “A”
(or equivalent grease)
• Install the steering damper and tighten the bolt 1 and nut 2.
Steering damper bolt and nut:
23 N·m (2.3 kgf-m, 16.5 lb-ft)
Do not remove the bolt A.
