You have completed the Mac OS 10.x workstation setup. You can continue
with one of the following sections:
If you are going to use a courseware server to deliver curriculum
content, go to “Installing the Courseware Server Software” on
page 77.
If you are going to run the courseware from CD or DVD, go to
“Licensing and Verifying the Installation” on page 87.
For further information on Macintosh workstation optimization
settings, go to “Tech Notes and Tips” on page 89.
Installing the Courseware Server Software
You must install the SuccessMaker courseware from a Windows
workstation. The Windows workstation must be in the same network as the
server where you installed the SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 system. The
workstation, which is referred to as the install station, must have a CD-ROM
or DVD-ROM drive.
Important! You must install the software from a Windows workstation,
even if you will only be using Macintosh workstations to access the
courseware.
To install the courseware server, complete the following steps:
1. Create the folder where you are going to install the courseware.
See “Creating a Shared Folder for Windows Workstations” on
page 78.
2. If you have Macintosh workstations, do one of the following
depending upon the configuration of your server:
Share a folder for Macintosh clients on a server running
Windows 2000. See “Sharing a Folder for Macintosh Clients on
a Server Running Windows 2000” on page 79.
Share a folder for Macintosh clients on a server running
Windows 2003. See “Sharing a Folder for Macintosh Clients on
a Server Running Windows 2003” on page 81.
3. Install the courseware. See “Installing the Courseware” on
page 83.
4. Verify the courseware installation. See “CD Verification” on
page 85.
