Note: If you want the SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 database to
automatically start when you start your workstation, you must copy the
SME Database shortcut to the \Start Menu\Programs\Startup folder.
5. You must now verify that the database service installed correctly.

Verifying the Sybase Installation
To verify the installation and configuration of the Sybase database service,
complete the following steps:
1. Double-click the Sybase icon in the notification area, at the far
right of the taskbar.
2. Check if the version number in first line of the Adaptive Server
Anywhere window is 8.0.2.4339.
If you see any other version number, contact Pearson Digital
Learning Product Support at 1-800-227-8224 for assistance.
3. To run the SuccessMaker Enterprise program, you must install a
client on your stand-alone workstation. See “SuccessMaker
Enterprise v1.6 Client Installation” on page 13.
