Setting AFP Volume to Case-Insensitive for Novell 6.5
Server
Before you install SuccessMaker Enterprise clients on Macintosh
workstations connected to Novell Netware 6.5 servers, you must set the
SuccessMaker Enterprise volume to be case-insensitive for your
SuccessMaker Enterprise Apple® File Protocol (AFP) volume.
Ensure that your server configuration is Novell Netware 6.5 server with
Service Pack 3 or later. For more information related to Novell Netware
servers, see www.novell.com.
Note: The following procedure is a one-time operation.
To set the AFP volume to case-insensitive, complete the following steps:
1. Press CTRL+ESC.
2. The Current Screens menu appears, select System Console.
3. At the console prompt, type
NSS /ExtendedMac = your volume name
Your volume name = the volume name where the SuccessMaker
Enterprise system resides
Example: NSS /ExtendedMac = VOL1.
4. At the console prompt, type
afpnames case-insensitive your volume name
Your volume name = the volume name where the SuccessMaker
Enterprise system resides
Example: afpnames case-insensitive VOL1.
5. Press ENTER. A message appears indicating that the case-
insensitive attribute is set for the specified volume.
You must now install the SuccessMaker Enterprise server. Go to the next
section.
