Installing a Macintosh LAN Report Service
To view reports on Macintosh workstations connected to your Novell
Netware server, you must perform the instructions listed in this section.
Basic Requirements
Before installing the Macintosh report service, ensure the following:
• A Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional workstation with Service
Pack 4 or later or a Microsoft Windows XP Professional with
Service Pack 2 or later
• The Novell 4.90 client with support pack 2 or the Novell 4.91 client
on your Windows workstation
• A Static IP address for your workstation
• The IP address of your Novell Netware server
• Read/write permission to the Novell Netware volume where
SuccessMaker Enterprise management system resides.
• An administrative user account on the local workstation and the
NetWare server that can be used for the Reports Service. Ensure
that the administrative user accounts have the same name and
password. Also ensure that the user accounts are set to user cannot
change password and password never expires settings.
To view reports on your Macintosh clients, you must run the Macintosh
LAN support report service from your server. To install Macintosh LAN
report service, complete the following steps:
1. From a Windows workstation, connect to your server as a user
with administrative rights.
2. Map a network drive (T: is recommended) to the volume where
the SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 system resides.
3. Open the ResultsManager\SuccessMaker\Mac\LanSupport
folder.
4. Double-click Setup.exe to run the installer.
5. At the Welcome page, click Next.
6. At the Choose Destination Location page, click Browse.
7. Type or select the drive letter where SuccessMaker Enterprise
resides, and then click Next.
8. In the Information page, leave the default settings and click Next.
