Note: During the update process Pearson Digital Learning
recommends that you back up your database and log file.
This backup is used only if a problem arises during the
update process and you need to restore your SuccessMaker
Enterprise system to the previous version. Normally, you
convert your existing database to the latest version and you
will not need this backup.
10. In the Server Information page, click Next. The Information
Summary page appears.
11. Click Next. The Setup Completed page appears.
12. Select the View log files check box if you want to view the log
files, and then click Finish.
13. You must now restart the database service. Go to the next section.
Restarting the Sybase Database Service
To restart the Sybase Database Service, double-click the SME Database icon
on your desktop. The Adaptive Server Anywhere window appears and you
can see the SME Database icon in the notification area on the right side of the
taskbar.
You must now update the SuccessMaker Enterprise client. Go to the next
section.
Auto-updating the Client Installation
To auto-update the Windows client to SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6,
double-click the SuccessMaker icon on the desktop. All the latest
SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 components are copied to the Windows client.
When the update is complete, the SuccessMaker Enterprise login screen
appears.

Enterprise v1.6 Client Installation” on page 13.
You must now verify that the update was successful. Go to the next section.
