Stopping the Sybase Database Service
To stop the Sybase Database Service, complete the following steps:
1. Log on to your Windows 2000/2003 server as a user with
administrative rights.
2. On the taskbar of your Windows 2000/2003 server, click Start,
point to Programs, point to Sybase SQL Anywhere 8, and then
click Sybase Central. The Sybase Central window appears.
3. In the left panel, select the Services folder. The name of your
Sybase Database Service is seen in the right panel.
4. Right-click the Sybase Database Service and click Stop. In the right
panel, ensure that the Status column indicates that the service has
changed from Started to Stopped.
5. Close the window.
If you are updating from SuccessMaker Enterprise 1.2, go to the next section
to update your database service.
If you are not updating from SuccessMaker Enterprise 1.2, and you do not
have Macintosh workstations, go to “Installing the SuccessMaker Enterprise
v1.6 Update” on page 161.
If you are not updating from SuccessMaker Enterprise 1.2, and you do have
Macintosh workstations, go to “Stopping the Macintosh LAN Report
Service” on page 159.
Installing the EBF Patch
If you are updating your server from the SuccessMaker Enterprise 1.2
system, you must first update your database service to Sybase 8.0.2.4339. To
install the EBF patch, complete the following steps:
1. From the SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 Management Setup CD,
open the Sybase4339\Windows folder and run the setup.exe file.
2. At the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for SQL Anywhere 8
Install (EBF) page, click Next. The License Agreement page
appears.
3. Read the license agreement. Click the I accept the terms of this
agreement option, and then click Next. The Choose Location page
appears.
4. Verify that the default path shown is C:\Program
Files\Sybase\SQL Anywhere 8, and then click Next. The Choose
Shared Components Location page appears.
