Directory Services
Creating User Accounts
1. Log on to your Windows 2000 server as a user with administrative
rights.
2. On your taskbar, click Start, point to Settings, and then click
Control Panel.
3. In Control Panel, open Administrative Tools.
4. Double-click Active Directory Users and Computers.
5. Select a domain to which you want to add SuccessMaker
Enterprise v1.6 user accounts.
6. Expand the Local Users and Groups category by clicking the plus
(+) sign.
7. On the Action menu, click New, and then click User. The New
Object - User dialog box appears.
8. Type a first name, initials, last name, logon name in the respective
fields, and then click Next.
9. Type the password in the Password box, re-type the same
password in the Confirm Password box, and then click Next.
10. Click Finish to create the user account.
11. You must now create the SMusers group. Go to the next section.
Creating Groups
1. Log on to your Windows 2000 server as a user with administrative
rights.
2. On your taskbar, click Start, point to Settings, and then click
Control Panel.
3. In Control Panel, open Administrative Tools.
4. Double-click Active Directory Users and Computers.
5. Right-click the Groups folder in the Active Directory Users and
Computers window, and then click New Group. The New Object -
Group dialog box appears.
6. Type SMusers in the Group Name box. Select your Group scope
and Group type, and then click OK.
7. Right-click the SMusers group, and then click Properties.
