Creating SMstudent and SMteacher User Accounts
To create the SMstudent and SMteacher user accounts, follow the
instructions listed in the section relevant to your operating system.
Mac OS 10.2.8
1. Log on as the SMadmin user.
2. Open System Preferences. The System Preferences window
appears.
3. Under System, click Accounts. The Accounts window appears.
4. On the Users tab, click the New User button. The New User
dialog box appears.
5. Type SMstudent in the Name box.
6. Select a picture for the user.
7. Clear the Allow user to administer this computer check box.
8. Clear the Allow user to log in from Windows check box.
9. Click OK.
10. Repeat these steps to create the SMteacher user account.
11. You must assign the appropriate user accounts to the SMusers
group. Go to “Assigning User Accounts to the SMusers Group”
on page 132.
Mac OS 10.3.X
1. Log on as the SMadmin user.
2. Open System Preferences. The System Preferences window
appears.
3. Under System, click Accounts. The Accounts window appears.
4. Click the plus (+) sign to open a new user account form.
5. Type SMstudent in the Name box.
6. Click the Picture tab, and then select a picture for the user.
7. Repeat these steps to create the SMteacher user account.
8. You must assign the appropriate user accounts to the SMusers
group. Go to “Assigning User Accounts to the SMusers Group”
on page 132.
