Installation Overview
1. Log on to your server as a user with administrative rights.
2. Create the SMstudent, SMteacher, and SMadmin user accounts,
and the SMusers group. See “Creating User Accounts and
Groups” on page 96.
3. Assign rights to the user accounts and the group that you create.

4. Install SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 server. See “Installing
SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 Server” on page 106.
5. Install the Sybase SQL Anywhere Studio 8 software and the EBF
patch. See “Installing and Configuring the Sybase Service” on

6. Make a backup of your database. See “Performing a Live Backup

7. Install SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 client. See “Setting Up
