Updating Clients to SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6
Auto-updating Windows Clients
To auto-update the Windows client workstation, double-click the
SuccessMaker icon on the desktop. All the latest SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6
components are copied to the Windows client. When the update is complete, the
SuccessMaker Enterprise login screen appears.
If you want to perform a fresh workstation installation, go to “Running the
Windows Workstation Setup” on page 57.
If you have Macintosh clients, go to the next section. If you do not have
Macintosh clients, go to “Verifying the Update Process” on page 186.
Extracting the Macintosh Workstation Setup Files
You need to extract the updated Macintosh setup files on your file server. To do
this, follow the instructions listed in the section relevant to your operating
system.
• For networks running Mac 9.x, go to the next section.
• For networks running Mac OS X, go to page 185.
• For networks running both Mac 9.x and Mac OS X, complete the steps
under Mac OS X on page 185.
Mac 9.2.2
1. Close all open applications on your Macintosh workstation.
2. On the Apple menu, click Chooser.
3. Click the AppleShare icon and select your AppleTalk zone.
4. From the File Servers list, select your SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6
server and click OK.
5. Log on as a user with administrative rights to the SME volume.
6. From the list of network volumes, select the SME volume and click
OK.
7. Close Chooser.
8. Browse to the ResultsManager\SuccessMaker\Mac folder on the
SME volume.
9. Double-click setup.hqx to extract the Setup file.
10. Double-click newsetup.hqx to extract the Newsetup file.
