Note:
If you make a regular backup of your data on a tape
drive or a Zip drive (or any other media), do not make a backup
of the
SME.DB
and
SME.LOG
files in the
\ResultsManager\
SuccessMaker\Database
folder. Instead you should make a
backup of the files you save using the live backup tool.
5. You must now set up SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 clients on your
Windows workstations. Go to “Setting Up SuccessMaker
Enterprise v1.6 Client Workstations” on page 113.

Setting Up SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 Client
Workstations
This section describes how to set up SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 clients on
Windows and Macintosh workstations.
Important! The client installations for SuccessMaker versions 4.x and 5.x are
not compatible with SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 and must be removed
before running the client installation.
To set up your SuccessMaker Enterprise clients, you must complete the
following tasks.
“Running the Windows Workstation Setup” on page 114
“Installing a Macintosh LAN Report Service” on page 123
“Running the Macintosh Workstation Setup” on page 126
Prerequisites
Before you begin the installation, ensure the following:
A hard disk drive with at least 150 MB of free space on the client
workstation.
The screen resolution is 800 x 600 pixels or above.
Install the Adobe
®
Reader
®
software version 5.0 or higher to view
the PDF documentation provided. You can download the installer
at no cost from the Adobe Web site at www.adobe.com.
Install the QuickTime Player version 5.0 or higher to view lessons.
