10. Type AFPSTOP at the console prompt to unload the
AFPTCP.NLM.
11. Type AFPSTART to load the AFPTCP.NLM again.
You must now assign a simple password to log on to the network without
any client software.
Assigning a Simple Password
A simple password enables a user to logon to the NetWare server without
any client software. The drawback is that now a user can have two
passwords - one in NDS, and a simple password.
To synchronize the simple password with the NDS password, complete the
following steps:
1. Press CTRL+ESC.
2. Click Utilities, and then click Server Console.
3. Type EDIT, and then press ENTER.
4. Press INSERT, click the SYS volume, and then press ENTER.
5. Open the SYS:SYSTEM\AFPSTART.NCF file.
6. On the line that displays load afptcp.nlm, add the word cleartext.
The new line should read load afptcp.nlm cleartext.
7. Press ESC.
8. Click Yes to save the file.
9. Press ESC, and then click Yes to exit the file editor.
10. Type AFPSTOP at the console prompt to unload the
AFPTCP.NLM.
11. Type AFPSTART to load the AFPTCP.NLM again.
