Overview
The following chapter explains how to update a SuccessMaker Enterprise
School server (NetWare 5.1, 6, or 6.5) configurations from versions 1.2 - 1.5
with Service Pack 1 to version 1.6.
To update your server, you must be at SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.2 or
higher. If you have an earlier version of SuccessMaker Enterprise (1.0 or 1.1),
you must first update to v1.2, and then update to v1.6.
Note: During the update process Pearson Digital Learning recommends that
you back up your database and log file. This backup is used only if a
problem arises during the update process and you need to restore your
SuccessMaker Enterprise system to the previous version. Normally, you
convert your existing database to the latest version and you will not need
this backup.
Check the size of your ResultsManager folder. The free space on the drive to
which you will install SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 must be 2.5 times the
size of the ResultsManager folder.
If you are updating your server from the SuccessMaker Enterprise 1.2
system, you must first update your database service to Sybase 8.0.2.4339. For
more information, see “Installing the SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 Update”
on page 177.
