Extracting the Macintosh Workstation Setup
Files
You must extract the following .hqx files on your server:
• setup.hqx
The setup.hqx file contains the Setup file. You can use the Setup
file to install a new client or update an existing client to the latest
version.
• newsetup.hqx
The newsetup.hqx file contains the Newsetup file. You can use the
Newsetup file to remove the existing client installation, and then
install a new client.
To extract the Macintosh workstation setup files, follow the instructions
listed in the section relevant to your operating system.
• For networks running Mac 9.x workstations, go to the next section.
• For networks running Mac OS X workstations, complete the steps
under “Mac OS 10.2.8-10.4.2” on page 65.
• For networks running both Mac 9.x and Mac OS X workstations,
complete the steps under “Mac OS 10.2.8-10.4.2” on page 65.
Mac OS 9.2.2
If you are installing and configuring the Macintosh support for the OS 9.x
operating system, complete the following steps:
1. Log on to your Macintosh workstation as a user with
administrative rights.
2. Close all applications.
3. On the Apple menu, click Chooser.
4. In the Chooser window, click the AppleShare
®
icon and select
your AppleTalk
®
zone.
5. Select your SuccessMaker Enterprise v1.6 server from the File
Servers list, and then click OK.
6. If you are prompted for a login name and password, log on as a
user with administrative rights.
7. Select the SME volume from the list of network volumes and click
OK.
8. Open the ResultsManager\SuccessMaker\Mac folder on the
SME volume.
9. Double-click setup.hqx to extract the Setup file.
10. Double-click newsetup.hqx to extract the Newsetup file.
