Running the Macintosh Workstation Setup
After you configure your server to support Macintosh clients, run the
Macintosh workstation setup.
If you do not have Mac OS X workstations in your network, go to “Installing
the SuccessMaker Enterprise Client on Macintosh Workstations” on
page 133.
Configuring Mac OS X Workstation
Note: Prior to running the workstation setup, you must install the Java 1.4.1
Update 1 for Mac OS X 10.2.8 workstations.
Before you perform a client installation on a Mac OS X workstation,
complete the following tasks:
• “Creating the SMadmin User Account” on page 126
• “Creating the SMusers Group” on page 129
• “Assigning the SMadmin User to the SMusers Group” on page 130
• “Creating SMstudent and SMteacher User Accounts” on page 131
• “Assigning User Accounts to the SMusers Group” on page 132
Creating the SMadmin User Account
To create the SMadmin user account, follow the instructions listed in the
section relevant to your operating system.

1. Log on as a user with administrative rights.
2. Open System Preferences. The System Preferences window
