INSPECTION AND REPAIR
3.Inspect:
● Bolts 1 (starter clutch)
Loose → Replace with a new one, and calk
the end of the bolt.
Bolts (starter clutch):
30 Nm (3.0 m • kg, 22 ft • lb)
LOCTITE
Calk the end of the bolt
PRIMARY CLUTCH
Clutch housing
1.Inspect:
● Clutch housing 1 (inner surface)
Heat damage/Wear/Damage → Replace.
● Bearings 2 (clutch housing)
Chafing/Wear/Damage → Replace.

One way clutch operation
Be sure that the splined inner collar 1 turns
clockwise Å.
If the operation is not smooth or if it turns
counterclockwise, replace the inner collar
1 and primary clutch housing 2 as a set.

Clutch carrier
1.Inspect:
● Clutch shoe
Heat damage → Replace.
2.Measure:
● Clutch shoe thickness
Out of specification → Replace.
SECONDARY CLUTCH
Clutch housing
1.Inspect:
● Dogs on the housing
Cranks/Wear/Damage → Deburr or
replace.
Clutch shoe wear limit a:
1.5 mm (0.06 in)
