ENGINE DISASSEMBLY
3.Remove:
Shift lever assembly 1
Washer 2
Return spring 3
Stopper lever 4
Washer 5
NOTE:
Push the shift pawl and the stopper lever to
the arrow direction and remove them from
the segment.
4.Remove:
Segment 1 (shift cam)
Use the Torx
wrench to remove.
NOTE:
When removing the segment, the dowel pin
will fall off. Take care not to lose the pin.
BALANCER DRIVEN GEAR
NOTE:
With the engine mounted, the balancer
driven gear can be maintained by removing
the following parts:
Starter motor
Crankcase cover (right)
Primary and secondary clutches
Crankcase spacer (right)
Oil pump assembly
1.Straighten:
Lock washer tab 1 (driven gear)
2.Remove:
Nut 2 (driven gear)
NOTE:
Place a folded rag 3 between the teeth of
the driven gear 4 and drive gear 5 to lock
them.
