FINAL DRIVE
4. Remove the outer cover plate assembly. Remove and
inspect the cover o-ring (1). Inspect thrust bearing (2) for
wear. Replace items as required.
NOTE: Thrust bearing (2) located between the two
output assemblies is pressed into the clutch pack
and is not removable.
5. Remove the output clutch assemblies. Inspect the bearings,
contact surfaces and splines of the output clutch for signs
of wear or damage. Visually inspect the clutch plate area.
If plates are steel-on-steel, or if the friction material is worn,
the assembly should be replaced.
NOTE: Excessive debris in the oil and/or noise
coming from the front drive on deceleration with
ADC active are key indicators of clutch pack failure.
Replace clutch as an assembly if found to be worn or
damaged.
NOTE: Locating pins / holes (circle) aid installation.
Note for reassembly.
6. Remove the armature plate. Inspect the armature plate for
wear, distortion or other damage. Replace component as
required.
7. Remove the spacer. Inspect for signs of wear or damage.
Replace component as required.

installation. Note for reassembly.
