CHECKING THE LIGHTING SYSTEM
1. The headlight and the high beam indicator
light fail to come on.
1. Headlight bulb and socket
8 Check the headlight bulb and socket for con-
tinuity.

8 Are the headlight bulb and socket OK?
YES NO
2. High beam indicator light bulb and socket
8 Check the high beam indicator light bulb and
socket for continuity.
Refer to “CHECKING THE BULBS AND
BULB SOCKETS”
8 Are the high beam indicator light bulb and
socket OK?
YES NO
Replace the headlight
bulb, socket or both.
Replace the high
beam indicator light
bulb , socket or both.
LIGHTING SYSTEM
Replace the headlight
relay.
5. Headlight relay
8 Disconnect the headlight relay coupler from
the wire harness.
8 Connect the pocket tester (Ω × 1) and bat-
tery (12 V) to the headlight relay coupler as
shown.
