INSTALLING THE CYLINDER HEAD
1. Install:
8gasket
New
8dowel pins
2. Install:
8cylinder head
3. Tighten:
8cylinder head nuts
22 Nm (2.2 m • kgf, 15.9 ft • lbf)
8cylinder head bolts
12 Nm (1.2 m • kgf, 8.7 ft • lbf)
TIP
8 Lubricate the cylinder head nuts with en-
gine oil.
8 Tighten the cylinder head nuts and bolts in
the proper tightening sequence as shown
and torque them in two stages.

4. Install:
8camshaft sprocket 1
8timing chain 2
▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼▼
a. Turn the primary fixed sheave counterclock-
wise.
b. Align the “I” mark a on the AC magneto
rotor with the stationary pointer b on the
crankcase.
c. Align the “I” mark c on the camshaft
sprocket with the stationary pointer d on
the cylinder head.
d. Install the timing chain onto the camshaft
sprocket, and then install the camshaft
sprocket onto the camshaft.
