INSTALLING THE CYLINDER HEAD
1. Install:
• gasket

• dowel pins

2. Install:
• cylinder head
NOTE:
_
Pass the timing chain through the timing chain
cavity.
3. Tighten:
• cylinder head nuts

NOTE:
• First, tighten the nuts

lb) with a
torque wrench.
• Retighten the nuts to specification torque.
NOTE:
• Lubricate the cylinder head nuts with engine
oil.
• Tighten the cylinder head nuts in the proper
tightening sequence as shown and torque
them in two stages.
4. Install:
• exhaust camshaft
• intake camshaft
Refer to “INSTALLING THE CAMSHAFTS”.
