14.2 Requirements for using the Live services
You have a tethering-capable smartphone with one of the following
operating systems:
Apple iOS 5.0 or higher
Android OS 4.0.3 or higher
Note: Some Android smartphones with a corresponding operating
system do not support the Bluetooth "PAN" profile. Without this profile it
is not possible to use the Live services.
You have set up a Bluetooth connection between the navigation
device and your smartphone (see "Bluetooth connection" on
page 141).
The Use Live services setting is activated (see "Configuring the Live
services" on page 160).
Your smartphone is configured to make its Internet connection
available to other devices. For details please refer to the user
manual issued for your smartphone.
The smartphone is selected as an Internet access point (see "Using
the smartphone's Internet connection" on page 157).
14.3 Using the Live services
The Live services are seamlessly integrated in the navigation software.
1. If necessary, tap on (Main menu) to open the S
TART
window.
2. In the S
TART window tap on Navigation > (Live).
The LIVE window opens. From there you have access to all the settings
of Live.
The system checks whether the navigation device is connected to a
smartphone via Bluetooth.
If there is no connection to a smartphone, you will be asked
whether you now want to set up a Bluetooth connection.
Tap on Bluetooth to set up a connection now (see "Bluetooth
connection" on page 141).
The system will check whether the navigation device can use the
smartphone's Internet connection (tethering).
If no connection to the Internet is possible, you will be directed
through the necessary steps. For more details refer to the chapter
"Using the smartphone's Internet connection" on page 157.
