Memory function

Make sure you have stored a parking
position for the passenger-side exterior
rear view mirror (Y page 315).

Make sure the Lower mirror when
reversing function in the Exterior
Mirror Convenience Settings
submenu of the COMAND system is
selected.
X
Switch on the ignition.
X
Press button 2 for the passenger-side
exterior rear view mirror.

With the automatic transmission in
reverse gear R, the previously selected
exterior rear view mirror is activated.
X
Shift the automatic transmission into
reverse gear R.
The passenger-side exterior rear view
mirror will be turned downward to the
stored position.
The exterior rear view mirror returns to its
previously stored driving position:
R
when you switch off the ignition
R
10 seconds after you have put the gear
selector lever out of reverse gear R
R
immediately once your vehicle exceeds a
speed of approximately 6 mph (10 km/h)
R
immediately when you press button 1 for
driver’s side exterior rear view mirror.

If you adjust the exterior mirrors while
they are in the parking position, the new
mirror position is stored as a new parking
position.
Memory function
Notes
With the memory function you can store up
to three different configurations per front
seat.
Each memory position button on the driver’s
side can store all of the following settings:
R
Seat position
R
Lumbar support (CL 550 4MATIC)
R
Multicontour seat: previously saved setting
R
Drive-dynamic multicontour seat:
activation/deactivation
R
Steering wheel position
R
Exterior rear view mirrors’ position
G
Warning!
Do not activate the memory function while
driving. Activating the memory function
while driving could cause the driver to lose
control of the vehicle.
Each memory position button on the front
passenger side can store all of the following
settings:

Seat position
R
Multicontour seat: previously saved setting
Controls in detail
