Platform Installations and Upgrades
1. Power down the server system and unplug all peripheral devices and the AC power
cable or the DC mains.
2. Remove the chassis cover. For instructions, see “
Removing the Chassis Cover.”
3. Locate the battery.
4. Insert the tip of a small flat bladed screwdriver, or an equivalent, under the tab in the
plastic retainer. Gently push down on the screwdriver to lift the battery.
5. Remove the battery from its socket.

6. Dispose of the battery according to local ordinance.
7. Remove the new lithium battery from its package, and, being careful to observe the
correct polarity, insert it in the battery socket.
8. Close the chassis.
9. Run Setup to restore the configuration settings to the RTC.
