2. Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to highlight the feature you wish to change and press
ENTER. A pop-up window will appear with selections for that feature.
3. Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to highlight the desired setting and press ENTER.
The ‘Avoid’ selections at the bottom of the Routing Setup Page let you avoid certain
items that may be undesirable in your route. However, the GPS V may still use these
items if the alternatives will take you too far out of your way.
To select route items you wish to avoid:
1. Follow the steps on page 54 to select the Routing Setup Page.
2.
Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to highlight the item you wish to avoid and press ENTER.
The item will generally be avoided with the box adjacent to the item is checked.
Main Menu: Setup: Units
The Units Setup Page allows you to select the desired units of measure for distance,
speed, vertical speed, heading and elevation. This page also allows you to select the
desired heading reference: True North, Magnetic North or Grid North. If a ‘User
Mag’netic North setting is chosen, you will need to manually enter the difference
between True North and Magnetic North for the local area.
To change units of measure:
1. Follow the steps on page 54 to select the Units Setup Page.
2. Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to highlight the feature you wish to change and press
ENTER. A pop-up window will appear with selections for that feature.
3. Use the ROCKER KEYPAD to highlight the desired setting and press ENTER.
4. If ‘User Mag’ is selected, use the ROCKER KEYPAD to highlight the heading differ-
ence fi eld, press ENTER, then use the ROCKER KEYPAD and ENTER to enter the
difference between True North and Magnetic North.
Main Menu: Setup
Change distance, speed and elevation units of
measure from the Units Setup Page.
Heading readings can be referenced to True
North or Magnetic North.
