everal special 941X functions are controlled by the
STAR
function
key (
). These include alerts and alarms, TideTrack™ functions,
and setup functions.
The Northstar 941X has a number of automatic alarms that can alert you
of special situations. For example, when you are approaching a waypoint,
the 941X signals you with a distinctive “beep” and a flashing exclamation
point symbol on the screen.
At any time, you can press the
STAR
button (
) to access the
ALARMS & BACKLIGHT
screen which displays the cause of the most
recent alarm.
The 941X’s alarm types and descriptions are:
