Setting the Auto-Off Delay Time
You can set your handheld to shut off automatically after a certain period of time to conserve battery power. Auto shut-off turns off
the display and backlight after a specified period of inactivity. It is important to remember that if the GPS antenna is open, or if your
iQue is connected to an external antenna, the iQue will shut off automatically but the GPS receiver will remain on (and continue to
drain battery life). Be sure to close the GPS antenna or disconnect the iQue from its external antenna to conserve battery power. If
you find that your handheld shuts itself off before you finish reviewing information on the screen, you can increase the automatic
shut-off setting.
To set the auto shutoff interval:
1. Tap the Home icon
. Select All from the pick list in the upper-right corner. Then tap the Prefs icon .
2. Tap the pick list in the upper-right corner and choose General.
3. In the General Preferences screen, tap the Auto-off After pick list and choose an auto shut-off time.
Setting Your Handheld to Stay On

an issue when your handheld is charging, so you can choose to have the handheld remain on.
To set your device to stay on while in the cradle:
1. Tap the Home icon
. Select All from the pick list in the upper-right corner. Then tap the Prefs icon .
2. Tap the pick list in the upper-right corner and choose General.
3. Tap the Stay on in Cradle check box to set your handheld to stay on. If you uncheck the box, your handheld shuts off after the period of
time that you specify above.
