Combining and Using Pioneer AV Equipment
Verify that the rear view camera image
appears on the screen when the gear shift is
in the REVERSE (R) position. To return to the
previous screen, move the gear shift in any
position besides REVERSE (R) or just press
the NAVI/AV button.
If the rear view camera image appears without
getting into reverse gear, the setting for
POLARITY” may be wrong. In that case, try
another setting and verify the automatic
switching again.
The initial setting for “POLARITY” is
BATTERY”.
If you want to adjust the picture
(CONTRAST, COLOR, etc.) for the rear
view camera, select “VIDEO” instead of
BACK UP CAMERA” to get into “VIDEO
ADJUST”. After making adjustments, rese-
lect “BACK UP CAMERA” to activate the
automatic switching for the rear view camera
image.
Setting the automatic open
mode
To prevent the display from hitting the shift lever
of an automatic vehicle when it is in the “P”
(park) position, or when you do not wish opening/
closing of the display to be carried out automati-
cally, you can switch this function on or off.
1 Press 5 or to select “AUTO FLAP” from
the SETUP MENU, and press the A.MENU
(AUDIO) button.

until the “OPEN/CLOSE:MANUAL
setting appears in the display. Each time you
press a manually set display’s OPEN/CLOSE
button, the display opens or closes.
3 Press 3 to select the auto.
Press 3 until the “OPEN/CLOSE:AUTO
setting appears in the display. With auto set-
ting, the display automatically opens or closes
when power to Pioneer AV Head Unit (AVH-
P6400CD or AVH-P6400) is switched on.
If you do not operate the function within about
30 seconds, the menu is automatically can-
celed.
Switching the image of the rear
display
When a rear display is combined, you can select
either showing navigation images on rear display
or the images of each source.
1 Press 5 or to select “REAR MONITOR”
from the SETUP MENU, and press the
A.MENU (AUDIO) button.

NAVI :
Navigation images are output from REAR
MONITOR OUTPUT (rear display output)
on AV Head Unit when a map screen of navi-
gation is displayed on the AV Head Unit.

Images of the source switched over is output.
Cautions When Connecting a Rear
Display to the Front Display
The map screen navigation images output to the
rear display differ from standard NTSC format
images. Therefore, their quality will be inferior to
the images that appear on the front display.
