Chapter 1 Basic Operation
When selecting “Back” on the text input
screen to return to the previous screen,
you may not be able to input text. In such
case, delete the letters entered in the text
box.
Entering letters using numeric key-
pad of the Remote Control
Every time you press the key, the letters assigned
to the key are switched in sequence and dis-
played in the text box. If you press different keys
while the letter to enter is selected, or if you press
the OK button on the bottom- right of the
numeric keypad, the selected letter appears in
the text box.
The order of switching key
If you don’t press any other keys within 4
seconds, the last selected character is
input automatically to be displayed in text
box.
You cannot input characters which are dis-
played in gray.
Searching your destination after
specifying the name of a city or area
You can narrow down the searching candidates
by initially specifying the name of a city or area
where your destination is located. Inputting the
name of the city or area then selecting the desti-
nation city or area from the list returns you to the
Street Name input screen. Now input the street
name, select the street from the list, and proceed
to step 9.
In the selected zone, if you select “City” without
entering the name of city or area, you can check
the list of the cities or areas, which you have
searched in the past. (This item cannot be
selected when searching by the name of a city or
area for the first time with this system or when
you have selected a zone that you have never
searched before.)
7 Select the street from the list.
Moving the joystick up or down scrolls you
through the list and allows you to view the
remaining items.
When the list is displayed across several
pages, you can switch the pages by pressing
the NEXT or PREV button on the Scale con-
troller.
Searching the destination by map

If only one location is found from the list,
route calculation starts after clicking the
OK button.
Selecting specifies the selected street
and streets intersecting it, allowing you to
set an intersection as your destination.
This is useful when you don’t know the
house number of your destination or can-
not input the house number of the speci-
fied street.
Selecting displays a map of the place
you have selected. (Candidate place
names may appear in the list screen.)
