Combining and Using Pioneer AV Equipment
How to listen to the radio
1 Press SOURCE button to select the tuner.
2 Use VOL dial to adjust the sound level.
3 Press the BAND/ESC button to select a
band.
Press the BAND/ESC button until the
desired band is displayed, “FM1”, “FM2”, “FM
3” for FM or AM.
4 To perform manual tuning, press 22

with quick presses.
The frequencies move up or down step by
step.
5 To perform seek tuning, press and hold 22
22
or 33
33
for about one second and release.
The tuner will scan the frequencies until a
broadcast strong enough for good reception
is found.
You can cancel seek tuning by pressing
either 22

or 33
33
with a quick press.
If you press and hold 22
22
or 33
33
you can skip
broadcasting stations. Seek tuning starts
as soon as you release the buttons.
Displaying the TUNER MENU
1 Press the A.MENU (AUDIO) button when
source is TUNER.
2 Select “TUNER” and press the A.MENU
(AUDIO) button.
The TUNER MENU is displayed as follows:
BSM (BEST STATIONS MEMORY)
LOCAL
P.CH MEMORY
Select “BACK” in the menu display or press
the BACK/FUNC button to return to the pre-
vious display.
To cancel the menu, press the BAND/ESC
button.
If you do not operate the function within about
30 seconds, the menu is automatically can-
celed.
Storing the strongest broadcast
frequencies
BSM (Best Station Memory) lets you automati-
cally store the six strongest broadcast frequen-
cies.
1 Select “BSM (BEST STATIONS MEM-
ORY)” from the TUNER MENU, and press
the A.MENU (AUDIO) button.

to turn BSM on.
BSM” turns to green. While “BSM” is green
the six strongest broadcast frequencies will
be stored in the Preset memory in order of
their signal strength. When finished, “BSM
returns to the nomal color.
To cancel the storage process, press .
Up to 18 FM stations, 6 for each of the three
FM bands, and 6 AM stations can be stored in
memory.
You can also use 5 and to recall radio sta-
tion frequencies assigned to Preset memory.
If there are fewer than six strong broadcast
frequencies, previously stored frequencies
may remain in memory.
Tuning in strong signals
Local seek tuning lets you tune in only those
radio stations with sufficiently strong signals for
good reception.
1 Press 5 or in the TUNER MENU to
select “LOCAL”, and press the A.MENU
(AUDIO) button.

to set the sensitivity.
There are four levels of sensitivity for FM and
two levels for AM :
