Combining and Using Pioneer AV Equipment
➲ Using a commercially available back-up camera with the proper setting, Pioneer AV
Head Unit automatically switches to the back-up camera image when the gear shift is
moved to the REVERSE (R) position. For more information, consult your dealer or the
nearest authorized PIONEER service facility.
➲ If you do not operate the function within about 30 seconds, the display is automatically
returned to the playback display.
➲ Verify that the back-up camera image appears on the screen when the gear shift is in the
REVERSE (R) position. To return to the previous screen, move the gear shift in any position
besides REVERSE (R) or just press the NAVI/AV button.
➲ If the back-up camera image appears without getting into reverse gear, the setting for
[POLARITY] may be wrong. In that case, try another setting and verify the automatic
switching again.
➲ The initial setting for [POLARITY] is [BATTERY].
➲ If you want to adjust the picture(CONTRAST, COLOR, etc.) for the back up camera, select
VIDEO instead of BACK UP CAMERA to get into “VIDEO ADJUST”. After making adjust-
ments, reselect BACK UP CAMERA to activate the automatic switching for the back up
camera image.
■Setting the automatic open mode
To prevent the display from hitting the shift lever of an automatic car when it is in the “P”
(park) position, or when you do not wish opening/closing of the display to be carried out
automatically, you can switch this function ON/OFF.

until the OPEN/CLOSE:MANUAL setting appears in the display. Each time you
press a manually set display’s EJECT, the display opens or closes.

to select the auto.
Press 3 until the OPEN/CLOSE:AUTO setting appears in the display. With auto setting,
the display automatically opens or closes when power to Pioneer AV Head Unit (AVH-
P6400CD or AVH-P6400) is switched ON.
➲ If you do not operate the function within about 30 seconds, the display is automatically
returned to the playback display.
BATTERY : When the gear shift is moved to the REVERSE (R) position, and the
polarity of the connected lead wire is positive.
GROUND : When the gear shift is moved to the REVERSE (R) position, and the
polarity of the connected lead wire is negative.
