Navigating a route made from a trail. Fig. 1 shows boat on first leg of
the route. In Fig. 2 boat nears point two and unit automatically
switches navigation to point three. Boat is still tracking 321°, but bear-
ing overlay now shows point three is 269° away. Steer arrow also
swings left, showing which way to turn. Fig. 3 shows boat has turned
on new course. Boat track is 268° which now matches the bearing to
point three which is 0.36 mile away. Steer arrow points straight ahead.
Simply running the Navigate Trail command will lead you along a trail
from starting point to ending point — forward order. You can also back
track a trail, or follow it in reverse order (from ending point to starting
point.) However, this requires you to manually edit the route to change
the point order.
To back track, you begin with the same steps for navigating a trail for-
ward. When you get to the Edit Route menu, you must change the route
order. The following figures will guide you through the process:
1. Select the NAME box and use the virtual keyboard to change the route
name from "(Trail 1)" to "(Trail 1 Reverse)". Changing the name helps
you tell a forward route from a reversed route. The parentheses ( ) in-
dicate this route was made from a trail. 2. Select point 1 and press the

OWN button to move it to the bottom of the list.
