Fuel, Lodging, Restaurants and other POIs
Most of the options in the Find menus work essentially the same. We
will use the
GAS command as an example but you can follow essentially
the same steps to locate and navigate to any POI stored in the unit.
To find a nearby gas station:
1. Press the
FIND button on the right side of the unit.
2. Select
GAS from the Find 1 screen. A screen will appear with a list of
gas stations nearest to your current position. Wait a moment for the
unit to finish compiling the list.
3. Highlight and select a gas station from the list. Once you make your
selection the POI Information screen will appear.
4. Now select
GO TO from the POI Information screen and the unit will
generate a route to the gas station.
Use the Gas command in the Find 1 menu to locate the nearest gas sta-
tion. The Nearest To Current Position screen (left) will appear. Scroll
through the list and select a gas station. The POI Information screen
(right) will appear. Select Go To and the unit will generate a route to
the gas station.
The unit has several ways to perform searches. If you are navigating,
the unit searches for locations nearest to your current route. If you
have the cursor on-screen the unit will search for locations nearest to
the cursor.
If you are not navigating, and do not have the cursor on-screen, the
unit will search for locations near your current position. You can choose
a specific search setting by pressing the
FIND BY button in the bottom
left corner of the Nearest To Current Position screen.
