Use the keyboard to enter the name of the first street. Enter the name
of the street without direction or street type modifiers such as "N." for
"North" or "Ave." for Avenue. When finished entering the street name,
press
DONE. Another Find Streets screen will appear asking you to enter
the name of the second street. Press
CHOOSE and use the virtual key-
board to enter the name of the second street. When you press
DONE a
dialog box will appear stating, "Finding street address. Please wait."
If the unit is not able to locate the intersection you are searching for a
dialog box will appear telling you it was unable to locate the intersec-
tion. When the unit finds the intersection you are searching for a dialog
box will appear stating, "Please choose an option." You will have three
options: Add to Addressbook, Find on Map or Go To.
Choosing New Destinations while Navigating
No matter which method the unit uses to generate a route it responds
the same. It generates a route from your current position to a chosen
destination. If you select an alternate destination or a new destination
while driving − whether you use the cursor on-screen or the Address
feature in the Find menu − a dialog box will appear asking, "Which
would you like to do?"
You will have three choices: Detour here, New final destination or Can-
cel old navigation. Make your selection and the unit will generate a
route to the alternate destination. Once you have reached your destina-
tion a dialog box will appear asking, "Do you want to cancel your
route?" This feature can be useful when you are traveling to a destina-
tion and want to stop for lunch along the way. Search for the nearest
restaurant, detour to the restaurant and then the unit will automati-
cally switch back to your original destination.
A dialog box will appear on-screen when you select a new destination
while navigating.
