CHECKING THE FUEL LINE
The following procedure applies to all of the
fuel and breather hoses.
1. Check:
• Fuel hose
• Breather hose
Cracks/damage → Replace.
Loose connection → Connect properly.

routed correctly.

CLEANING THE SPARK ARRESTER
1. Clean:
• Spark arrester

• Select a well-ventilated area free of com-
bustible materials.
• Always let the exhaust system cool
before performing this operation.
• Do not start the engine when removing
the tailpipe from the muffler.
a. Remove the bolts “1”.
b. Remove the tailpipe “2” by pulling it out of
the muffler.
c. Tap the tailpipe “2” lightly with a soft-face
hammer or suitable tool, then use a wire
brush to remove any carbon deposits from
the spark arrester portion “a” of the tailpipe
and the inner contact surfaces of the muf-
fler.

18 Nm (1.8 m·kg, 13 ft·lb)
Muffler joint bolt
20 Nm (2.0 m·kg, 15 ft·lb)
Muffler bolt
34 Nm (3.4 m·kg, 25 ft·lb)
