REMOVING THE REAR WHEELS
1. Stand the vehicle on a level surface.
WARNING
EWA13120
Securely support the vehicle so that there
is no danger of it falling over.
TIP
Place the vehicle on a suitable stand so that
the rear wheel is elevated.
2. Remove:
Rear wheels
EAS29430
CHECKING THE REAR WHEELS
The following procedure applies to both of the
rear wheels.
1. Check:
•Tire
Wheel
Refer to “CHECKING THE TIRES” on
page 3-29 and “CHECKING THE
WHEELS” on page 3-31.
2. Measure:
Wheel runout
Refer to “CHECKING THE FRONT
WHEELS” on page 4-5.
Over the specified limit Replace.
3. Check:
Wheel balance
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE REAR
WHEEL STATIC BALANCE” on page 4-
10.
Out of balance Adjust.

CHECKING THE REAR WHEEL HUBS
The following procedure applies to both of the
rear wheel hubs.
1. Check:
Wheel hub “1”
Cracks/damage Replace.
Splines (wheel hub) “2”
Wear/damage Replace.

INSTALLING THE REAR WHEEL HUBS
The following procedure applies to both of the
rear wheel hubs.
1. Install:
Rear wheel hub
Washer
•Rear axle nut
Cotter pin
Refer to “INSTALLING THE FRONT
WHEEL HUBS” on page 4-6.

ADJUSTING THE REAR WHEEL STATIC
BALANCE
TIP
After replacing the tire, wheel or both, the rear
wheel static balance should be adjusted.
1. Adjust:
Rear wheel static balance
Refer to “ADJUSTING THE FRONT
WHEEL STATIC BALANCE” on page 4-7.

INSTALLING THE REAR WHEELS
The following procedure applies to both of the
rear wheels.
1. Install:
Rear wheel
Refer to “INSTALLING THE FRONT
WHEELS” on page 4-8.
Radial wheel runout limit
2.0 mm (0.08 in)
Lateral wheel runout limit
2.0 mm (0.08 in)
Rear axle nut
120 Nm (12.0 m·kg, 89 ft·lb)
Rear wheel nut
45 Nm (4.5 m·kg, 33 ft·lb)
