PREPARATIONS FOR STORAGE
1. Discharge Fuel
If you do not use the engine for more than 3 months, discharge fuel to prevent
gum in the fuel system and carburetor parts.
Open the fuel shut-off valve (if equipped)
Remove the drain screw of the carburetor oat chamber and discharge fuel into a
suitable container (do not use glass or styrofoam).
2. Engine Oil
Change the engine oil with fresh oil. See maintenance table.
Remove the spark plug, pour about 1 tsp. (5cc) of engine oil into the cylinder.
Slowly pull the starter handle of the recoil starter 2 or 3 times, and replace the
spark plug.
3. Clean and Store
Slowly pull the recoil starter handle until resistance is felt and leave it in that
position to keep moisture out of the combustion chamber.
Clean the engine thoroughly with a cloth, and store the engine indoors in a
well ventilated, low humidity area.
! WARNING
engine performance, spark plug fouling, hard starting and increased emissions.
Carburetor modi cation by an authorized Robin America service dealer will
improve performance and assure that this engine meets EPA (Environmental
Protection Agency) and CARB (California Air Resources Board) emission
standards.
An engine converted for high altitudes can not be run at 5000 feet or lower. In
doing so, the engine will overheat and cause serious engine damage.
Please have an authorized Robin America service dealer restore high altitude
engines to the original factory speci cation before operating below 5000 feet.
Use extreme caution when handling fuel. Gasoline is extremely ammable.
