ThissettingwilldisplaytheGlideNettowhilecruisingbetweenthermalsandtheClimbRate

inThisThermal whilethermalling.TheClearNavswitchesbetweenthe2numbers

automaticallyasyouchangeflightmodes–suchaschangingfromCruisetoClimbmodeorvice

versa.Thereisadelayofafewsecondsasyoutransitionbetweenflightmodesbecauseit

takesafewsecondsfortheClearNavtodeterminethatyouhavechangedflightmodes.





GlideNetto

Thisistheaveragenettoclimborsinkachievedinthecurrentglide.Theterm“netto”indicates

thatthesinkrateatthecurrentspeedfromglider’spolarisaddedtotherawvarionumberso

thatthedisplayednumbershowswhattheairmassisdoingratherthanthecombinationof

airmassmotionandglidersinkrate.Avalueofzeroindicatesthattheglidehas(onaverage)

beendoneinstillair.Apositivevalueindicatesthattheglidehasbeendone(onaverage)

in

risingair.Anegativenumberindicatesthattheglidehasbeendone(onaverage)insinkingair.
