When connected to an optional sounder module such as the GSD 22 and a transducer, your unit
becomes a powerful shnder. The sounder module connects through the Garmin Marine Network
and shares sonar data with every chartplotter connected to the network.
With the GPSMAP 4000 series unit, you can view sonar in different ways, depending on the type of
transducer you are using. Press Sonar from the Home screen to view the available choices:
Understanding the Full Screen
Use the Full Screen to view a full-screen graph of the transducer’s sonar readings. The range scale
along the right side of the screen shows the depth of detected objects as the screen scrolls from the
right to the left.
On the Home screen, select Sonar > Full Screen.
