Use the Congure screen to congure unit settings.
Conguring System Settings
To change general system settings, from the Home screen, select Congure > System.
Simulator—turn Simulator Mode on or off and set Simulator Mode options. (If you set the unit into
a Store Demonstration mode during the initial unit setup, this setting will be named Demo.)
Language
—select the on-screen language.
Beeper/Display
—set Beeper options, Backlight, and Color Mode.
Beeper—select Beeper to set when the unit makes audible sounds. The three settings are Off,
Alarms Only (default), and Key and Alarm (keys and alarms).
Backlight—select Backlight to adjust the intensity of the backlight or select Auto to allow the
unit to automatically adjust the backlight based on ambient light.
Color Mode—select Color Mode to select Day Colors, Night Colors, or Auto to allow the
unit to adjust the colors.
GPS—view GPS satellites and turn WAAS (Wide Area Augmentation System)/EGNOS (European
Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) on or off.
System Information—view system information, restore factory settings, and view the status of
networked devices (page 42).
Event Log
—shows a list of system events.
Overlay Numbers—view or edit the options for Wind (Apparent Wind or True Wind) and Next
Turn numbers (Distance or Time).
Changing Units of Measure
To change units of measure from the Home screen, select Congure > Units.
System Units—this is a quick global setting that denes most of the individual units of measure
listed below at once. Statute (mh, ft, ºF), Metric (kh, m, ºC), Nautical (kt, ft, ºF), or Custom. Select
Custom to individually dene units of measure for:
Depth—individually set the units of measure for depth to Feet, Fathoms, or Meters.
Temperature—individually set units of measure for temperature to Fahrenheit (ºF) or Celsius
(ºC).
NOTE: You must be receiving NMEA Sonar depth data or using a Garmin sounder module to view
depth and water temperature information.
