COMPLETING THE INSTALLATION
Youwillnotice(5)additionalwires,whichcomedirectlyoutoftherubber
wireexitbootfromthesirencontrolmodule,andarenotpartofthemain
harness. These wiresare used to customizethe installation, and are
requiredinsome vehicles.
1. Thin BLACK Wire
Thisistheantennawireforthereceiverthatisbuiltintothesirencontrol
module. Fully extend this wire, and route it as high in the engine
compartmentas possible,for maximumtransmitterrange.
2. BLACK Loop Wire
This pairof wires exitsthe rubber boot,and areterminated with 1/8“
matingmaleand femalespadeconnectors.
Thissystemcanbeprogrammedtoarmactivelyorpassively.Insurance
discounts areusuallylarger forpassivearming securitysystems.
Active armingmeans that the securitysystem will onlyarm when the
transmitterbuttonispressed.Toselecttheactivearmingfeature,simply
plugthe twoterminalson theBLACKwire looptogether.
Passivearming meansthatthe securitysystemwill automaticallyarm
60seconds aftertheignitionkey hasbeenswitchedoff. Youstillhave
theoptionofarmingthesystemimmediatelybypressingthetransmitter
button,butifyouforgettodothis,thesystemwillautomaticallyarmand
provide full protection to the vehicle. To select the passive arming
feature, be sure the two terminals on the BLACK wire loop are
disconnected,andindividuallyinsulate eachend withelectrical tape.
3. BLUE Loop Wire
This wire exits the rubber boot, and immediately loops back into the
rubberboot.
The siren control module is programmed at the factory for voice
activation. Ifyouwish toeliminate thevoice responseof thesystem
(replacetheword“ARMED“withonesingle“chirp“-replacetheword
“DISARMED“withtwo“chirps“-replacetheword“INTRUSION“with
four “chirps“ -and replacethe words“ATTENTION, BACKINGUP “
with“threechirps..pause..threechirps..etc.“),simplycutthisbluewire
loop,and individuallyinsulate bothsideswithelectricaltape.
NOTE:The“ATTENTIONINTRUSION“voicemessageduringthe60
secondalarm cyclewillalwaysbe active.There isnowayto eliminate
thisvoice message.

11. Connecting the Glass Break Detector Module
A.Connect theREDwire fromtheglassbreak detectormoduletothe
REDwire fromthemain sirencontrolmodule harness.
B.ConnecttheBLACKwirefromtheglassbreakdetectormoduletothe
BLACKwirefromthemainsirencontrolmoduleharness,ortoasolid,
metal,chassis groundsource.
C.ConnecttheWHITEwirefromtheglassbreakdetectormoduletothe
DARKGREEN wirefrom themainsiren controlmoduleharness.
12. 2 Pin Door Lock Interface Connector
There isan additional2 pin connectorcoming outof thesiren control
module,witha REDandaBLACKwire.This connectoris usedforthe
optional door lockinterface, which willremotely lock and unlockyour
vehicle’sexistingpowerdoorlockswhenarminganddisarming.Onlythe
AA9158 doorlockinterface shouldbeused withthisalarm.If youare
not installingthe doorlock interface, donot makeany connections to
these twowires.
PROGRAMMING THE KEYCHAIN TRANSMITTERS
Thetwo keychaintransmittersthatareincluded withthissystemarea
“codelearning“typeRadioFrequencytransmitter,whichsimplymeans
thatthesirencontrolmodulewilllearnandremembertheindividualcode
number of each transmitter. The siren control module will learn the
individualcodesof (2)transmittersonly.Anattemptto programa third
transmitter will erase the code number of the first transmitter pro-
grammed.
IMPORTANT!Savetheseprogramminginstructions inaplacewhere
youcaneasilyfindtheminthefuture.Wheneverthevehicle’sbatteryis
disconnected for servicing, the transmitters will need to be repro-
grammed.
To Programthe Transmitters;
A.Themainharnessconnectorshouldbedisconnectedfromthesiren
control moduleat this stepof the installationprocedure. If itis not,
unplugtheconnector.
B. Be sureto have bothkeychain transmitters in hand,then plug the
main harness connectorinto the sirencontrol module. Youshould
hear ashort“chirp” fromthe siren.
C.Pressandholdthelargerarmingbuttonontransmitternumber1until
thesiren soundsonelong “chirp“.
D.Immediately pressandholdthelarger armingbuttonontransmitter
number2 untilthesiren soundsonelong “chirp“.
E. Bothtransmittersshouldnow beprogrammed.Youcan testthisby
pressingthearmingbuttononeachtransmitter,whichwillresultinthe
appropriate “ARMED “ or “DISARMED “ indicationfrom the siren
module.
IMPORTANT!Ifonlyonetransmitterisoperating,repeattheprogram-
ming procedure.Oncethe harnessconnector ispluggedin, youhave
only15secondsinwhichtoprogrambothtransmitters.Thisshorttime
windowis requiredinorder toprovideahigh levelofsecurity.
