5. Decreasingthe Sensitivityof theShock Sensor viathe
Keychain Transmitter
There may be some circumstances when you will want to arm the
system,butdecreasethesensitivityoftheshocksensor,orsimplyturn
the shock sensor off. This feature can be useful during extreme
thunderstorms,or whenparkingon ornearheavy constructionsites.
To armanddecrease shocksensitivity,
A.Followthenormalarmingprocedurebypressingthelargerbuttonon
the keychaintransmitter.
B.Immediatelyafterarming,pressandreleasethesmallerbuttononthe
keychaintransmitter.
C. Inapproximately fiveseconds, the sirenwill soundone long chirp,
indicatingthatthesensitivityoftheshocksensorhasbeenreduced
30percent.
To armand turn theshock sensor off,
A.Followthenormalarmingprocedurebypressingthelargerbuttonon
the keychaintransmitter.
B.Immediatelyafterarming,pressandreleasethesmallerbuttononthe
keychain transmittertwo times.
C. Inapproximatelyfive seconds,thesiren willsoundone shortchirp,
followedbyonelongchirp,indicatingthattheshocksensorhasbeen
turned off.
IMPORTANT!Anytimetheshocksensorhasbeenadjustedusingthe
keychaintransmitter,disarmingthenrearmingthesystemwillreturnthe
shock sensortoits normaloperating sensitivity.
6. Remote Panic Operation
Thealarmcanbeactivatedviathekeychaintransmittertodrawattention
toyour vehicleduringanemergencysituation.
To activatethe panicfeature;
A. Press andhold the larger buttonon the keychain transmitterfor 3
seconds.
B. Thealarmwill sound,and theparkinglights willflashfor thefull 60
secondalarm cycle.
C. To silence the alarm before the 60 second shutdown, press and
releasethe largerbuttonon thekeychaintransmitter.
WARNING !In most areas,it is illegalto activate thealarm while the
vehicleismoving.Forthesafetyofyourpassengersandothermotorists,
donot activatethe alarmwhileyour vehicleisin motion.
2. Protection While the System is Armed
A. Openinga door( orany light activatedentry point), willcause the
alarmtoimmediatelysoundforthecomplete60secondalarmcycle.
The parking lights will flash on and off continuously during the 60
secondalarm cycle.
B.Wheneverthesystemisarmed,anyunauthorizedattempttostartthe
vehiclewillbeprevented.
C. While the system is armed, the red dash mounted L.E.D. will
constantlyflash, discouraginganywouldbe thieves.
D. Anylight impact tothe vehicle glassor body panelswill causethe
system toimmediatelysound thewarningchirps, discouragingany
further attemptsto enterthevehicle.
E. Anyforceful impacttothe vehiclewill causethe systemtoimmedi-
atelysoundthealarmandflashtheparkinglightsforthecomplete60
second alarmcycle. Atthe end ofthe cycle,the alarmwill re- arm
itself,and resumemonitoringthevehicle.
F.Asabackup,ifyouhaveremotelyshuttheshocksensoroff,theglass
breakdetectorwillhearthenoisemadebybreakingglass,andsound
the alarmforthe complete60second cycle.
3. Disarming the System
A.Whenyoureturntothevehicle,pressandreleasethelargerarming
button onthekeychain transmitter.The systemwillrespond with
“ DISARMED“ ( twochirps ), and thevehicle’s parking lightswill
flash twotimes.
B1.IfthealarmhasbeenwiredforACTIVEoperation,thenthereddash
mountedL.E.D.willturnoff,indicatingthatthesystemisdisarmed,
and itissafe toenter thevehicle.
B2. Ifthe alarm hasbeen wiredfor PASSIVE operation,then the red
dash mountedL.E.D. willbegin toflash rapidly,indicating thatthe
systemis disarmed,but intheautomatic re-arming mode.Within
60secondsofdisarmingthesystem,youwillneedtoturntheignition
key tothe onposition tostop thesystem fromre -arming.
4. Disarming After an Intrusion
When disarming, if the system responds with “ INTRUSION “ ( four
chirps),andthevehicle’sparkinglightsflashthreetimes,youarebeing
alertedthatthealarmwastriggeredduringyourabsence.Additionally,
thered dashmountedL.E.D. willblink3times ..pause.. blink3times
.. etc., to providean added visual indication thatthe alarm had been
triggered.Theseintrusionindicatorsarestoredinthesystem’smemory,
andwill onlybeerased whentheignitionkey isswitchedon.
7. Valet Switch Operation
If youlose or misplaceyour keychain transmitter,or if thetransmitter
failsto disarmthesystem,an emergencybypassswitchis includedto
temporarily disarmthe system.To usethe switch;
A.Open thedriver’s door.Thealarm willsound !
B.Insertthekeyintotheignitionswitch, andturnittothe“on” position.
C.Movethevaletswitchtothe“ON”position.Thealarmwilldisarm,and
thevehicle cannow bestarted.
D.The dashmountedL.E.D.will turnonsolid, andremainonuntil the
system isswitched outof valetmode.
Wheninthevaletmode,allfunctionsofthesystemareinoperative,and
thesystem cannotbearmeduntil itisswitched outofvalet.The panic
feature, and the optional keyless entry feature willoperate when the
system isin thevalet mode.
To switch outof the valet mode;
A.Turntheignitionkeytothe“on”position,thenmovethevaletswitch
to the“OFF” position.
B.The dashmountedL.E.D. willturnoff, andthesystemwill returnto
normaloperation.
8. Backing Up Alert
Foradditionalsafety,especiallyinresidentialareas,thesystemincludes
a backupalert.
Anytimethe vehicleis running,and thegear shiftselectorismovedto
reverse, thesystem responds with“ ATTENTION BACKINGUP “ (3
chirps...pause...3chirps),andrepeatsthismessageuntilthevehicleis
shifted outof reverse.
