APPENDIX > ADDING MAPS TO YOUR QUEST
Adding Maps to Your Quest
You can purchase additional MapSource
®
maps from Garmin for
your Quest. Information from these maps appear on the Quest’s
Map page just like the current detail maps you transferred from
your computer when you originally set up your Quest.
The maps that were loaded in the Quest 2 when you purchased
it are protected and cannot be erased. For example, if you add
additional maps to your Quest 2, you will not overwrite the
original maps. Any additional maps you load to the Quest 2 are not
protected. These additional maps will be overwritten each time you
load new maps to the Quest 2.
Purchasing Additional MapSource Maps
In order to unlock additional maps, you need your Unit ID number
(see page 41) and serial number (see page 50).
NOTE: When you transfer additional maps to your Quest, the
existing maps you previously downloaded are automatically
deleted. Therefore, you must transfer them again at the same
time through the MapSource software that is on your computer.
See the MapSource Owner’s Manual for more information.
Controlling Map Views on the Map Page

The MapSource Info page lists the MapSource maps that are
loaded onto the unit. For example, North American City Select v6
